Western Railway Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Fees:

According to the advertisement, the application fee is Rs. 100/-, and it is non-refundable. However, there is an exception for certain categories of applicants. SC/ST/PWD (Persons with Disabilities)/Women applicants are not required to pay any fee

Age:

The Applicants should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 26/07/2023 (Closing date).

1. SC/ST/OBC:
   • Relaxation in upper age limit by 05 years in case of SC/ST applicants.
   • Relaxation in upper age limit by 03 years in case of OBC applicants.
2. Persons with Disability (PWD): Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
3. Ex-servicemen:
4. Upper age limit is relaxed up to an additional 10 years for ex-servicemen.
   • The relaxation is based on the extent of service rendered in Defense Forces, plus 03 years.
   • Minimum 6 months of continuous service is required, except for ex-servicemen who have already joined the government service on the civil side after availing the ex-servicemen status for the purpose of their engagement.

Essential Education:

The applicants should have already passed the prescribed qualification, which is Matriculate or 10th Class, on the date of issue of this Notification, i.e., 21/06/2023.

1. Matriculate or 10th Class in 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from recognized Board.
2. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: ITI certificate affiliated to NCVT/SCVT is compulsory in relevant trade as under:-

Important Documents:

1. SSC (Standard 10th) or its equivalent Mark Sheet.
2. Certificate for proof of date of birth (Standard 10 or its equivalent certificate or mark sheet indicating date of birth or School Leaving Certificate indicating date of birth).
3. Consolidated ITI mark Sheet of all semesters of the trade in which applied / Provisional National Trade Certificate indicating marks.
4. National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT / SCVT.
5. Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC Applicants in Annexure – B, C & D wherever applicable, as mentioned in Para.
6. Disability certificate, in case of PwBD Applicants Annexure – E & F (as applicable).
7. Discharge certificate for Ex-servicemen.

Western Railway Recruitment 2023 Selection Process

Merit Based, No-Exam:

The selection of eligible applicants for training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on the merit list. The merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the applicants in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination. Equal weightage will be given to both.

In case two applicants have the same marks, the applicant with the older age will be given preference. If the dates of birth are the same, then the applicant who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first. There will be no written test or viva conducted for the selection process.
